Just when we were starting to question our free-form, seat-of-the-pants, devil-may-care, let's-rent-an-RV and go-surfing-until- sometime-next-week lifestyle; just when the man was really breathing down our neck about back taxes and loan payments and all that f*ckin' jack, just when the spectre of dismal and legitimate employment began to haunt our delicate, decadent head spaces, Sakebomb raised its fist to the sky and landed yet another shitpant world class yob.

When Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman got together for the second time and made a new film with characteristic ingenuity, we at Sakebomb decided to keep up with their thematic expedition and do some Adaptation of our own. One irrepressible character from the Being John Malkovich production (for which we did the promotional website) was the "indefatigable misunderstood genius" Lloyd Rice; since the predictable little bastard had swung another Production Assistant job on the Adaptation set, we asked him again to deliver his journals detailing the experience. We then took these journals, edited them, hired actors, and adapted everything into several mildly-dramatized "behind the scenes" short films for an internet audience.

So it looks like I went to Nara, which is beautiful.... except for bathtime, which was just plain akward.

My homestay was kind of lame compared to some of my friends. But at least it gave me awesome food and a nice bath. The bottle of high quality sake was a nice bonus too.
